Jeju Air Flight 2216 was involved in a tragic accident on December 29, 2024.
The flight, operated by a Boeing 737-800, was en route from Bangkok, Thailand, to Muan International Airport in South Korea.
During its approach to Muan, the aircraft encountered a bird strike, which led to a dual-engine failure.
The pilots declared a mayday and attempted a go-around, but the landing gear failed to deploy, resulting in a belly landing.
The aircraft overran the runway and crashed into an embankment, killing 179 people on board.

Azerbaijan Airline Filght 8243 Azerbaijan Airlines Flight 8243 was a tragic incident that occurred on December 25, 2024.
The flight, which was en route from Baku, Azerbaijan to Grozny, Russia, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan.
Out of the 67 people on board (62 passengers and 5 crew members), 38 lost their lives, while 29 survived with injuries.

Kamaka Air Flight 689 was a tragic accident that occurred on December 17, 2024.
The flight, operated by a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, crashed shortly after taking off from Daniel K.
Inouye International Airport in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Both pilots on board, Hiram deFries and Preston Kaluhiwa, were fatally injured.
The aircraft crashed into an abandoned building and was consumed by fire.
